ALL WORK SHOULD BE TYPED IN A MICROSOFT WORD OR GOOGLE DOCUMENT AND THEN TRANSFERRED INTO YOUR WIKI. THIS HELPS YOU SPELL CHECK YOUR WORK AND DOUBLE-CHECK ASSIGNMENTS PRIOR TO PUBLISHING THEM ONLINE. IF YOU TYPE DIRECTLY INTO YOUR WIKI, PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT BECAUSE THIS IS AN INTERNET LIVE PAGE, IT COULD TIME-OUT AND YOU COULD LOSE YOUR WORK! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! NO EXCUSES!

  1. Open a new window or new tab in Internet Explorer, Safari, or Firefox (to do this go to "File" on the top left of your screen, and click "New Tab" or "New Window." Keep my wiki page up on your screen in another tab or window so that you can refer back to it for assignment requirements and expectations.
  2. Sign in to your www.wikispaces.com account. If you are unsuccessful after a few attempts, you may need to create a new account and resend your link to me or Ms. Kitzmiller (whomever may be your teacher at the time). kanderson@cysd.k12.pa.us mkitzmiller@cysd.k12.pa.us
  3. Select the wiki link for the page you created for English I.
  4. Once you have selected your English I wiki page, click on the plus (+) sign next to "Pages and Files" to add a new page link to your wiki. Title the page as stated in my directions below.
  5. Once the page comes up, copy and paste your work from your Microsoft Word document or your Google Document. Make sure you have used SPELL CHECK as this is for English class!!!

SPECIAL FEATURES:

To add a picture to your wiki if/and when necessary, use only copyright free sources. Save the picture to your desktop. Go to "File" on the editing toolbar within a "new page." Click on the "Upload" button in the box that pops up (it will be on the left side of the box). Find the location of the picture as you named it and saved it to your desktop. Click and upload. Once it is finished uploading (the green upload bar will disappear). Click on the file and it will appear in your wiki page.

Please include the link to the site on which you found the picture. Go to the "Link" button on the editing toolbar. Click on "external link" on the left side of the box that pops up, and enter the website url address in both the top and bottom boxes. Click on the box that indicates for the page to be open in a "new window," and then click "add link." That will allow me to see the exact source and location of the picture.
